“In a world moving so fast, with the growth of technology and information, I am somehow inclined to move against this current, in search of what it might mean to be connected not just spiritually, but also vertically.” So says British choreographer Akram Khan about his inspired creation Vertical Road, a thought-provoking dance narrative about the Persian poet Rumi, who encouraged individuals to abandon their egos and receive eternal grace through acts of love.
“The dance is beautiful and harrowing, and draws us into a strange, potent world...fabulously danced...viscerally thrilling.”
This presentation of Vertical Road is made possible in part by The Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, Inc.
Vertical Road is sponsored by COLAS and co-produced by ADACH.
These performances will be followed by White Light Lounges.
