Eight dancers from around the world share the stage with five of Ireland’s best musicians in Rian (U.S. premiere), a union of traditional Irish music and passionate contemporary dance. Provocative choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan collaborates with Rian’s music director, multidimensional artist Liam Ó Maonlaí, in a production that bypasses the rational mind and resonates somewhere far deeper, as a visceral manifestation of joy and community.
“An extraordinary piece of dance theater that manages to be both seamless entertainment and a rich insight into Irish culture.”
Co-produced by Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre and Sadler’s Wells, London.
Rian is made possible by endowment support provided by the American Express Cultural Preservation Fund.
The international touring of Rian by Fabulous Beast is supported by Culture Ireland. Additional support is provided by The Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, Inc.
The performances on November 9–10 will be followed by White Light Lounges.
Please note: Performances begin promptly at their scheduled times.
There is no late seating. This performance is approximately one hour and 30 minutes long, with no intermission.
