Necessary Weather is a silent study in movement and light, a miraculously immersive collaboration between two iconoclastic artists, both working beyond the usual boundaries of their fields: choreographer and dancer Dana Reitz and lighting designer Jennifer Tipton. Danced by Reitz along with the celebrated Sara Rudner, Necessary Weather finely weaves a subtle new medium of its own.

“The dancers glow like incandescent beacons; the viewer’s perception is that light and movement are perfectly fused, that one cannot be considered without the other.”
